CARE AND SUPPORT TO PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV/AIDS(PLHA)
AIDS continues to be a deadly bane that directly strikes the most productive members of society. People living with HIVAIDS (PLHAs) are often living without knowledge of their status or medical support. Moreover, PLHAs face hurdles in assessing medical support and services due to stigma and discrimination. FXBIS is working to help the distressed through community mobilization and awareness generation camps and provide basic care and support to people infected and affected with HIVAIDS through quality referrals and regular follow-ups for Anti-retroviral Therapy (ART) adherence. FXBIS also works with infected peer leaders to train them as 'change agents' to promote prevention and understanding of HIV.
As part of comprehensive care and support to PLHAs, medical services, and supportive services like supplementary nutrition, psychosocial counseling, support to continue children's education and IGA skill training to improve the economic status of the families, are provided.
