Recognising and Strategising for Women Empowerment: ET Women's Forum 2018

Recognising and Strategising for Women Empowerment: ET Women's Forum 2018 ~~What will happen when India's women are empowered is not the question anymore. How to empower them is...

The ET Women's Forum, held in Mumbai on the 16th of March this year, was a platform for global leaders to deliberate on how to empower the half a billion women population of our country. This is especially significant in the light of the 104th rank obtained by India (of the total 144 countries ranked) in the Global Gender Gap Index. Gender equality of rural women and their independent access to public services are key indicators of inclusive growth in the country. With the discourse on women's empowerment progressing from viewing women as passive 'recipients' of welfare benefits to engaging them as active agents of change, the paradigm seems to have shifted from women's development to women-led development.

It was an honour for our CEO, Ms Mamta Borgoyary to be invited to the Forum: in her own words, "The panel on women entrepreneurs nailed some of the myths. You need not be a super-mom; offices have to provide space to balance work from home... that it is ok to have your five-year-old child sit and colour in the office while you handle the Board."
